Course Overview

This course aims to give the learner an overview to health and safety to ensure that at all times you have the knowledge and understanding to be able to work to best practice.Health and Safety is an essential aspect of every working environment. Upon completion of this course you will have knowledge of your responsibilities and your employer’s responsibilities in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act. SUMMARYThe Health and Safety Executive 2013-2014 Annual Report for Great Britain revealed that there are 1.2 million working people suffering from a work-related illness and that there were 28.2 million working days lost due to work-related illness and workplace injury. The 2012-2013 Labour Force Survey showed that there have been 629,000 injuries at work and that 133 workers were killed at work in recent years. The estimated cost of injuries and ill health from current working conditions in 2012-2013 was of £14.2 billion.
